Words from "a friend"

To have known Iris was a privilege, but to enjoy her friendship over many years has been an experience which has added a wonderful dimension to my life.

She personified the definition of a close, loyal attachment to whom you could turn in good or bad times. She had the capacity to show interest, love and concern with humour and strength to her many friends. Our lunches, telephone calls and glasses of sherry after a morning at RDA are memories that will always be with me.

Iris’s legacy was the gift of friendship - a skill which she had in abundance.

Time "a devourer of all things" was plentiful with her. She was always there to share a moment, the anecdote, the experience and you can be sure there it was never dull.

I hope I have learned a little about true friendship from knowing Iris and loving her.
